Russian-Korean dialogue about Animation: the Rafa and KOCCA

On May 12, the representatives of the Russian animation industry met with the first representative of the Korean content agency KOCCA in Russia Si Woo Kim. The talks were held by the Russian Animated Film Association (the RAFA) in Soyuzmultfilm studio in Moscow.

The Korea Creative Content Agency is a non-profit government organization dedicated to the promotion of the Korean content industry, focusing on animation, K-Pop, video games, drama, streaming, comics etc.

Soyuzmultfilm, Ivi, Wizart Animation, CLS, Cyrillic, Malysh TV and Paranoid Animation took part in the meeting from the Russian side.

The participants of the event discussed the most promising areas for future collaboration of Russian and Korean companies. In particular, the emphasis was made on opportunities of co-production and export of animation content. Mr. Si Woo Kim revealed the plans to open an official KOCCA office in Moscow next year, underlined the need to continue intercultural dialogue in difficult times, and expressed the readiness of the Korean side to establish new business relationships and long-term cooperation with Russian companies.
