Masha and the Bear goes to Japan

The Russian animated series “Masha and the Bear”, which has already collected almost all possible international awards, was first shown on Japanese TV. According to Kyodo, a japanese news agency, Animaccord animation studio is also negotiating with several other Japanese broadcasters to expand its broadcast network.

The cartoon premiered back in April on the kids’ TV channel Kids Station. The wind-up inventor Masha and Mishka, who has an extraordinary self-control, fell in love with the young viewers, and the channel has sheduled new episodes for show in August.

Animaccord is happy about the new opportunities that have opened up, but they are not going to be satisfied with what has already been achieved and are actively negotiating with Japanese TV channels.

The first series “Masha and the Bear” aired in 2009. During this time, the animated series, already translated into 42 languages, entered the top five most popular children’s shows in the world. In Russia, the cartoon is second in popularity only to the super-hit of children’s animation “Well, wait!” The studio plans to release a full-length cartoon about the adventures of Masha and the Bear.
