Mechtalёt, the First Far Eastern Animation Studio, Turns 2

Mechtalёt animation studio, a Graphics and Animation division of the Far Eastern Architectural Co., was officially established on September 5, 2018.

This September, Mechtalёt celebrates its 2nd year. The studio is based in the city of Khabarovsk and has gathered dreamers from Khabarovsk, Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Nakhodka, Vladivostok, and Moscow. At the beginning of 2019, the team consisted of 8 people and has almost quadrupled by 2020. The studio currently employs 29 specialists – screenwriters, directors, animators, background artists, voice actors, and sound engineers. As the studio is now working on its first animated series – Back to Back, the team actively collaborates with specialists from Moscow, Moldova, and South Korea.

Over the two years, Mechtalёt has set up the production of animated content from scratch, initiated and held the Grand Animation Festival in Russia’s Far East, presented a sneak preview of Back to Back pilot series at the 25th Open Russian Festival of Animated Films in Suzdal, and is now actively working on 26 episodes of the first season.

The studio will celebrate its second birthday with an open meeting with everyone interested in animation and the studio’s experience. The event will take place in the Commune space in Brosko Mall, Khabarovsk, on September 9, 2020.
