Activities
The most important RAFA activities are: collaboration with government institutions, lobbying the interests of the industry, establishing a dialogue between the professional animation community and government authorities.
RAFA management and representatives of the Animated Film Association are members of working groups, expert, advisory, supervisory and public councils of such structures as: the Government of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Communications (Roskomnadzor), The Government of Moscow.
Promotion Worldwide
A significant part of RAFA activities is related to the promotion and popularization of Russian animation worldwide, establishing links and developing partnership with foreign companies, organizations and associations in order to create favorable conditions for finding potential partners and implementing joint projects (co-production, content distribution) as well as matchmaking.
RAFA carries out the following activities: expert support at international events abroad,
export support at international events in the territory of the Russian Federation, organization of export support events.
Projects
The Association is constantly engaged in special projects related to the popularization of animation film professions among children and adolescents: the International Children’s Animation Animatika Film Festival in Artek, various competitions for the creation of amateur animation by children’s animation studios.
Professional standards
From 2018 to 2020, RAFA developed professional standards for the animation industry together with the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation and with the support of leading specialists in the animation industry as part of the execution of the Order of the President of the Russian Federation V.V. Putin dated 30.06.2017 No. Pr-1244 following a meeting with producers of animation studios.
The result of the work was the creation and official approval of the following professional standards: animation artist, specialist in visualization in animated films, specialist in preparation for the production of animated films, specialist in animation film production technologies, specialist of the preparatory period of animated films, specialist in creating visual effects in animated films and computer graphics, specialist in the organization of the production of animated films, specialist in working with interactive motion systems (Motion Capture).
