The Animated Series “Leo and Tig” Continues to Conquer Europe

The continuation of the animated series “Leo and Tig”, created by the Parovoz studio and commissioned by the Digital Television media holding, will be shown on two children’s TV channels in Italy and also in Switzerland.
On October 11, the Rai YoYo TV channel, which is part of the Italian state broadcasting corporation Rai, launched the second season of the animated series Leo and Tig, which premiered successfully on the TV channel in the summer of 2019.

The animated series “Leo and Tig” tells about the adventures of Leo the little leopard, Teague the tiger cub and their friends. In the first season, the heroes learn about the unusual natural phenomena of the Primorsky Territory, unravel the secrets of the forest, help those who need their help. In the second season, Leo and Teague meet the Chinese monkey LiLi, who is in trouble. To help her friend return home, Leo, Tig, Mila, Yara, Martik and Cuba go on a long journey to different countries.

In addition to the premiere of the new season on Rai YoYo, the Leo and Tig project has become available digitally on the TimVision streaming platform owned by Telecom Italia, one of the main aggregators of high-quality digital content. This will help expand the brand’s presence in the region. The first season of the animated series started on October 11.

The love and popularity of the Russian animated series among Italian viewers also ensured the cooperation of the 0+ Media company, which is part of Digital Television, with several large Italian companies, such as Play Press, Diramix, Mondadori, Grabo Balloons, for the production and sale of children’s goods with the image of your favorite characters.

Also, young viewers from Italy and Italian-speaking countries – Switzerland, Malta, Monte Carlo, San Marino and the Vatican, will receive a wonderful gift for Christmas – the pay TV channel DeA Junior, owned by one of the largest publishing houses De Agostini, will show the continuation of the favorite cartoon, as well as New Year’s songs performed by Leo and Teague. The premiere episode of the animation project “Leo and Tig” aired on the TV channel on December 13, 2020.

In addition, the animation project Leo and Tig was made available to children in Switzerland on 25 August in French via Radio Télévision Suisse (RTS). This was made possible thanks to a deal entered into by Digital Television’s partner APC Kids and Swiss Broadcasting Corporation (SRG SSR), which includes RTS. SRG SSR produces and broadcasts French-language radio and television programs in Switzerland.

The animated series “Leo and Tig” won the popularity of young Russian viewers immediately after it was released on the big screen in 2016 as part of the release of the film magazine “MOOLT in Cinema”. Over time, the story of two inseparable friends became known not only in the Russian market, but also abroad. This year, the cartoon was shown in several new countries at once: in Israel on the Junior TV channel and in the YouKid application, South Korean JEI TV. In addition, another partner of the Russian media holding Beijing Joy Culture Media is distributing the animated series on digital platforms in China.

In 2020, the rights to broadcast it were purchased by Piwi + (France), Star Channel (Greece), Spacetoon International (Middle East), Gubbare (India). Earlier in 2018, Netflix, as well as the Hungarian national media holding MTVA, RTL Kockica TV channel (Croatia), and a number of digital platforms in China acquired the rights to the Russian animated series.
