The competition program of The Annecy International Animation Film festival includes 8 Russian films

This year, the largest animated film festival will be held in Annecy from June 14 to 19. All screenings and other events of the festival will take place in a live format. The competition will be attended by directors from all over the world, the works of directors from Russia are competing for awards in several categories.

In the main competition, the audience will see:

  • “Box Ballet” by Anton Dyakov ( Animation film Studio “Melnitsa»)– this love story of the boxer Eugeniy and the ballerina Olga touches on the complex psychology of human relations, when two very different people suddenly turn out to be the closest to each other.

  • “Vadim on a walk” by Sasha Svirsky, recently awarded a special diploma by the jury of the Open Russian Animation Film Festival, a manifesto of an employee who takes for granted the grueling work.

  • The student animation competition will also be attended by the winner of the Open Russian Animation Film Festival, Anastasia Lisovets, with her poignantly beautiful film “Dogs Smell of the Sea”, which has the understatement that allows you to write your own story between the lines.
  • “Cyber-Eve” by Katya Mikheeva is stylized as a computer game, where the heroine must overcome her fears.
  •  In the category best animated film for children, two films of the Soyuzmultfilm Studio are presented : “Under the Clouds” by Vasilisa Tikunova and “The Princess and the Bandit” by Maria Sosnina, Mikhail Aldashin.
  • In the competition of TV series – the episode “Wheels on the Bus” (directed by Dina Maltseva) of the popular franchise “Masha and the Bear”.
    • And finally, in the competition of applied animation – ” Polymorphy” by Vladislav Parovozov

Recall that the MIFA film market – the main European industrial event in the world of animation, which is held as part of the festival, this year for the first time offers a mixed format from 15 to 18 June 2021
