Tommy the Little Dragon and BabyRiki are finalists for the Golden Teddy Award

On 6 March 2019, an awards ceremony was held at the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation to crown the winners of the 9th National Golden Teddy Awards for goods and services for children, for outstanding contributions in 2018. More than 100 companies from across Russia and neighbouring countries took part in the competition, representing around 200 products in 22 categories. In each category, second- and third-place finalists were also identified.

Two series by Petersburg Animation Studio won prizes in the Public Acclaim category.

·         The animated series ‘Tommy the Little Dragon’ won first place in the Perspective of the Year category.

·         The animated educational series ‘BabyRiki’ took third place in the Brand of the Year category.

On the National Prize: The Golden Teddy is an industry-wide award for goods and services for children and families with children, which recognises outstanding contributions by leading companies in the industry. This competition, which plays a central role within the industry, was an initiative of the Russian Children’s Products Industry Association (CPIA) and has operated since 2010. Over that time, more than 150 organizations have won prizes, and over 200 goods and services have been nominated as the best in their categories and recognised as industry leaders. The prize is objective, as confirmed by the open, public process for defence of the nominees, the participation of industry authorities, winners from the previous years and auditing partners in the Expert Council, and oversight by a Supervisory Council. The Organising Committee has offered the opportunity to receive a written certification by the Expert Council since 2017.
