China strengthens its position in the Russian media market

From April 8-10, the international television and digital content market World Content Market – Moscow was held at the Moscow Amber Plaza Exhibition Center, which has become a key event for industry professionals. The Chinese Pavilion, organized with the support of the State Administration of Radio and Television of China (NRTA) and the SMG Media Group (Shanghai Media Group), attracted special attention of the participants.
The 140 m2 pavilion has become the largest national stand on the market. 24 leading Chinese companies took part in its work, which highlighted the growing importance of the Russian-Chinese partnership in the field of media and China’s desire to expand international cultural cooperation.
The eventful business program of the China Pavilion took place on April 9 and included three key events:
The conference ‘New Content from China’, where television series, films, animations, documentaries and entertainment projects with high export potential were presented. The participants discussed distribution prospects and new cooperation formats.
The show ‘Remembering history and uniting for the future’, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in World War II. The program included films and videos dedicated to the fight against fascism.
Presentation of content from Shanxi Province, which introduced viewers to the historical and cultural heritage of the region. The demonstration was accompanied by simultaneous translation into Russian.
Within the framework of the events, the signing ceremony of cooperation agreements between Chinese and Russian companies took place.

Chinese companies held meetings with leading Russian TV channels and online cinemas, including VGTRK and Channel One. Worldwide Network, GPM RTV, CTC Media, NTV, TNT-TV Network, TV Center, Friday, Saturday, Moscow Media, Media Telecom, Zvezda, TV-3, REN TV, as well as online platforms Okko, Wink, Premier, Kion, Rutube, Amediateka, Start, ivi, Yandex/Kinopoisk. As a result, important agreements were reached to expand the presence of Chinese content in the Russian media market.
Russian viewers will soon see new Chinese TV series, films, and animation projects reflecting cultural diversity and current trends in the Chinese media industry.
The participation of Chinese companies in the World Content Market – Moscow 2025 was a confirmation of the strategic nature of Russian-Chinese cooperation in the field of television and digital media and opened up new prospects for joint projects, distribution and cultural exchange.
