Albina Mukhametzyanova: Russia and China share common cultural values

Russian animation becomes more and more in demand in China due to a similar approach to the traditional values that underpin the development of children’s content in the two countries. Albina Mukhametzyanova, YARKO CEO and General Producer, told about this at the Russia–China Film Dialogue session of the Spirit of Fire International Festival.

Speakers from Russia, India and China discussed the advantages of joint film production, including the exchange of experience, the implementation of educational programs in cinematographic universities of the two countries, as well as the support of projects through the interaction of film funds.

‘Family, friendship, mutual assistance, safety — these concepts are equally important for both Russian and Chinese manufacturers. Russian animation has good potential in China, but high competitiveness requires a special approach. This is the creation of high-quality 3D projects with vivid characters, memorable songs and music that will be close to children’Albina Mukhametzyanova said.

According to her, the main direction for the Russian animation business in China is joint production with local companies. This format allows not only to adapt projects to local requirements, but also to develop them as national ones, which gives access to television, online platforms and wide opportunities for licensed programs with Chinese business partners.

The speaker stressed that in the international market, the success of animation is determined not only by the quality of content, but also by an effective marketing strategy.
