Moscow International Film Week will be hosted from August 23 to 28, 2024

From August 23 to 28, the capital of Russia will host Moscow International Film Week. In addition to the screenings of Russian and foreign features, city tours, master classes, concerts are planned for visitors and tourists. Industry representatives from more than 40 countries, including China, Turkey, Iran, Egypt and Thailand, confirmed their participation in the business program, said Natalia Sergunina, the deputy mayor.
‘This will be one of the biggest cultural events of the year. It will be joined by 100 venues — almost 30 city and commercial cinemas, parks, museums, art spaces and hotels. It will be possible to attend about 200 events every day,’ Natalia Sergunina said.
In total, over 300 film screenings are planned for an audience of all ages. In particular, the works of Chinese directors will be screened.
Visitors will have the opportunity to watch films in unusual locations, for example, in outdoor pools and on the roofs of hotels.
During these six days, concerts, master classes, lectures, silent film screenings with live music and games based on films are organized for visitors. The program includes meetings with actors and performances. The guides will conduct theatrical and audio tours of the places where the iconic paintings were shot.
In addition, four thematic festivals will be held. Viewers will see works in various genres, including documentaries and short films.
Business meetings and city tours will be prepared for foreign actors, producers and experts, where they will be introduced to the infrastructure created in the city for filmmaking.
