RAFA CEO Irina Mastusova took part in the International Forum ‘The Role of Creative Industries in the Socio-economic Development of tourist territories included in the UNESCO Network of Creative Cities’ in St. Petersburg.

Mastusova made a presentation on the topic ‘Event format in the animation industry’ during the session ‘Creative clusters and event events as a tool for the socio-economic development of tourist territories’. The report highlighted the role of the Animation Film Association in the industry, the main Russian animation festivals, Moscow clusters for professionals and points of attraction for fans of animated films.

During the session, the speakers discussed the role of creative spaces and vibrant cultural events in attracting tourists and stimulating the local economy. The participants shared their experience in creating creative clusters, such as art districts, design centers or media parks, and described how they contribute to the activation of tourism activity and the development of related industries. The participants also discussed how major event events – festivals, concerts, exhibitions – affect the promotion of tourist destinations, an increase in tourist flow and positive socio-economic effects for the local community.
