Report from the Moscow Animation Film Festival in Serbia

The Moscow Animated Film Festival in Serbia, organized by the Government of Moscow with the support of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Serbia, was held on November 26. The program of business events in Belgrade included a conference for creative industry professionals, during which Moscow and Serbian experts discussed opportunities for cooperation in the field of animation. The conference was moderated by the RAFA CEO Irina Mastusova.

During the conference, participants discussed a wide range of topics related to the production and distribution of animation: the production of short animated films in Serbia, the current state of the creative sector in Serbia with an emphasis on audiovisual works, artificial intelligence and its application in animation, the modern animation scene in Serbia: author, student and studio production, experience of interaction and project creation in co-production between studios (using the example of cooperation with China, Europe, MENA), universal meanings based on the example of the script of two short animated films by Stevan Zhivkov, including various aspects of their production, the experience of creating an animation studio in Serbia and cooperation with local and global markets, the history of creating animated films based on hand-drawn animation in Serbia, the development of the series as a solution to business and social problems.

There were also presentations of the ANIMANIMA festival and the film program of the Cultural Center of the city of Chachak, films in production, projects of the SMF Studio, Agama Film , Voronezh, Platoshka, Sakhnovsky Park, Multograd studios.

The purpose of the Festival is to strengthen cultural ties between Moscow and the cities of Serbia, to find business partners to create joint projects in the field of animation.
