The Big Toon Festival will present more than 400 features from 26 countries

The Big Toon Festival will be held October 25 to November 5 in Moscow. The festival program includes more than 400 animated features from 26 countries.
The festival is supported by the Ministry of Culture of Russia, SMF Studio is a strategic partner.
‘The Big Toon Festival is an event loved by millions of viewers across the country. By providing access to the world’s collection of contemporary animation art to a wide range of viewers, it performs a responsible role as a cultural mediator. This is a very important educational mission, which the organizers of the show annually implement at the highest level’ – said Olga Lyubimova, the Minister of Culture of Russia.
Juliana Slashcheva, SMF Studio Chairman of the Board of Directors noted that over the 18 years of the festival’s existence, entire generations of its viewers and participants have grown up.
‘BTF is also certainly important because it unites many different people from all over our country around animation, and for some of its viewers it becomes a moment of professional choice. This echoes the mission of SMF, so the studio has been supporting it for years,’ said Juliana Slashcheva.
There are three competitive categories in the BTF program: short films, feature films and a national film competition.
