VIII International Children’s Animation Film Festival “Animatika” to Be Held at Artek

From August 13 to 19, 2025, the International Children’s Center “Artek” will host the VIII International Children’s Animation Film Festival “Animatika.” The festival is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the legendary camp.
“Animatika” combines the best traditions of Russian animation with modern formats for the creative development of children and teenagers. A large-scale competition preceded the festival: earlier this year, children from across the country submitted their own animated films. Based on the results of the selection, 20 winners and 36 participants from 14 regions of Russia were chosen. All of them received free invitations to attend Artek’s 9th session and will take part in the festival’s key events.
“It is especially important that in Artek’s anniversary year, campers, together with renowned mentors, will create animated films dedicated to Artek,” said Konstantin Fedorenko, Director General of Artek. “Animatika is a significant event for the camp and a unique opportunity for children to engage with industry professionals.”
Irina Mastusova, Executive Director of the Russian Animated Film Association, emphasized that participation in the festival is not only a creative experience, but also a first step toward a future career:
“The winners of the competition will come to Artek from various regions of the country. They are united by their love for animation and interest in new technologies. During the festival, the children will immerse themselves in the animation process, work as a team, receive professional feedback, and see their creations on the big screen.”
The highlight of the festival will be the competition screening of animated films created in mobile animation studios. Under the guidance of animation instructors, the children will create six films dedicated to Artek’s centenary. The winners of the earlier competition will act as mentors and share their experience with newcomers. The completed films will be screened at the closing ceremony, where a jury will select the best works. All participants will receive prizes and gifts from the festival’s partners.
Participating studios include Master-Film, Soyuzmultfilm, STV Film Company (Mill Studio), Riki Group, and animation studios such as Parovoz, YARKO, Voronezh, Pchela, A-Film, Ural-Cinema, and others.
Special attention will be given to a foresight session, where all 36 participants will present their competition works to professional animators and industry experts. The young creators will receive detailed feedback and recommendations for developing their projects.
The Animatika Festival is organized by the Russian Animated Film Association with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation. It is not only a celebration of children’s creativity but also an important educational and professional platform that helps lay the foundation for future careers in the animation industry.
