Animation Film Association Took Part in a Discussion on the Development of Creative Industries in BRICS Countries

On September 16, a panel session titled “Made in BRICS: Uniting Creative Potential” was held in Yekaterinburg as part of the 3rd BRICS Women’s Entrepreneurship Forum at the International Youth Festival. The session was dedicated to the development of international cooperation in the creative industries.
The discussion was moderated by Yuliana Slashcheva, Chair of the Board of the Animation Film Association, Chair of the Board of Soyuzmultfilm Studio, CEO of the Gorky Film Studio, and Chair of the Creative Industries Working Group of the Russian Chapter of the BRICS Women’s Business Alliance.
Participants discussed practical mechanisms for cooperation among BRICS countries in film, animation, and media, as well as opportunities for creative projects to enter international markets. Particular attention was paid to adapting products for new audiences, finding international partners, organising co-production, and developing promotion and distribution strategies.
Another focus of the discussion was the development of cross-border projects capable of bringing together creative and entrepreneurial expertise from different countries. Participants considered opportunities to expand professional ties and establish new formats of international cooperation in the creative industries.
The discussion featured Ivan Vtorykh, co-founder and CEO of Svetlye Istorii animation studio; Maksim Usynin, Rector of the International Institute of Design and Service; Tolu Olowofoyeku, co-founder and President of Kugali Media, Nigeria; and Afrooz Bavafa, co-founder and Executive Director of Soor Creative Media Arts, Iran.
