‘Crimean Symphony’ will be the theme of the competition of the VII International Children’s Animated Film Festival ‘Animatika’ in Artek

On January 31, 2024, RAFA announces the start of the annual children’s animated film competition ‘Animatika’!

Works by authors aged 9 to 17 on the theme “CRIMEAN SYMPHONY” are accepted until May 15, 2024.

The contest participants are invited to create a cartoon about one of the unique places of the Crimean Peninsula and its legendary inhabitants. Children’s imagination will be awakened by ancient cities, incomparable palaces and unique museums of the Crimea, as well as legends, myths and tales of this unique land. Young creators will be able to tell you which place in Crimea made the strongest impression on them and became their favorite, or about the corner of the peninsula that they dream of visiting.

The competition is held within the framework of Animatika Festival, which is organized by RAFA  together with Artek International Children’s Center with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.

25 authors, whose works are recognized by the expert jury as the best, will receive vouchers to Artek in the summer of 2024. During their stay at the legendary children’s campus, the winners will take part in the VII International Children’s Animated Film Festival “Animatika”. The festival will be held from August 13 to 19, 2024.

The purpose of the competition is to identify new and support the most worthy authors of animated works who have successfully completed the competition tasks Competition regulations. The works of both individual and collective participants are accepted for the competition. The works of the winners of the competition of previous years are posted on the platform of the Russian author’s animation ‘Multanima’.
The participants of the Competition send applications and a package of documents to the e-mail address animatikafest@gmail.com  no later than May 15, 2024.

Animatika Festival in Artek provides an opportunity for both children who are already engaged in animation studios and beginners to try themselves as cartoon creators under the guidance of leading figures of Russian animation and experienced teachers. For some of the children, participation in Animatika Festival will determine their professional path and give an impetus to the development of their own creative projects. Some festival participants choose animation as a profession and continue their studies in specialized educational institutions, and then come to work on animation projects in professional studios.
