Irina Mastusova to Head Commission of the Public Council under the Russian Ministry of Culture

Irina Mastusova, Executive Director of the Russian Animated Film Association, has been elected Chair of the Commission on Cinematography and Animation of the Public Council under the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.
In May 2026, a new composition of the Public Council under the Russian Ministry of Culture was formed, bringing together 30 representatives of the professional community.
The first organizational meeting of the newly appointed Council took place in June. Ivan Rudin, General Director of the Zaryadye Concert Hall and Artistic Director of the Moscow State Symphony Orchestra, was elected Chair of the Public Council. Roman Karmanov, General Director of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives, and Anastasia Zvyagina, Deputy Director for Information, Advertising and Social Communications of the Directorate of the Russia Exhibition, were elected Deputy Chairs.
As part of the new composition, the Public Council established a structure comprising seven specialized commissions. Following a vote, Irina Mastusova was elected Chair of the Commission on Cinematography and Animation.
The Public Council under the Russian Ministry of Culture is a permanent consultative and advisory body. Its activities are aimed at facilitating cooperation between the Ministry and professional and public communities, participating in public oversight of the Ministry’s work, reviewing draft regulations and government programs, conducting public expert assessments, and preparing recommendations on matters of state cultural policy.
Irina Mastusova has been a member of the Public Council since 2019 and continues to represent the interests of the professional animation community within the Council.
