Russian delegation at China International Cartoon & Animation Festival (CICAF) animation market in Hangzhou resulting

From June 19 to 24, the Russian delegation was represented at China International Cartoon & Animation Festival (CICAF) in Hangzhou.
The presence of the Russian delegation was hosted by the Moscow Export Center, which presented the umbrella booth, holds matchmaking meetings and presentations of Russian companies.
The animation film market featured projects from studios and companies: SMF, Riki group of companies, Yarko, KinoAtis, GreatFrame, Skazka, Good Night, Kids!, Red Square, as well as cases of the Flysound and Cyrillica localization studio and LLCs “Sweetclub”, “Art 3D Graphics”, “Bubble” and “Sergei Eisenstein Street”.
The most important event was the participation of Russian companies in the 19th International Business Conference on Animation and Games 2023iABC. Within the framework of the conference, a large-scale presentation from Moscow companies and b2b meetings with foreign partners took place. In the near future, Russian animation companies will summarize the results of business negotiations, which were very fruitful. The conference was attended by almost 5,000 guests from Russia, Canada, the UK, Spain, France, Singapore, Malaysia, South Korea, Vietnam, China, Hong Kong and Taiwan, Chile. The estimated turnover based on the results of the transactions will be more than 189 million yuan.
It is particularly worth noting the events held by the participants of the Moscow booth within the framework of the Russian-Chinese dialogue. Irina Mastusova, RAFA CEO and Ma Li, President of the Animation Association of China, held the third Russian-Chinese dialogue and agreed to sign a cooperation agreement between the associations.
Members of the Russian delegation visited the Golden Monkey King Award and took part in a special pitching within the framework of the award.
The Russians expressed gratitude to their Chinese colleagues for the hospitality and organization of the delegation’s stay at the highest level. The Russian guests were impressed by the atmosphere of the festival and the abundance of participants in cosplay costumes. The delegation members also admired the Animation Museum, recently built in Hangzhou, the facade of which is a huge screen on which cartoons are broadcast around the clock.
The China International Cartoon & Animation Festival (CICAF) is hosted by the National Radio and Television Administration, the China Media Group and the People’s Government of Zhejiang Province, and undertaken by the Hangzhou Municipal People’s Government, the Zhejiang Provincial Radio and Television Administration and the Zhejiang Radio & TV Group. It is China’s first national world-oriented animation festival, and a cultural trading platform key supported by the Chinese Culture Going-Global Project.
