SUZDALFEST–2026: RESULTS

The results of the 2026 Suzdal Animation Festival (Suzdalfest–2026) have been announced. The jury selected the best works across the main competition categories and compiled the festival’s professional rankings.
In the student film category, the Grand Prize was awarded to “Sense Organ” by director Eliz Bozalp. Jury diplomas were also presented to “We’re Stuck!” by Karina Astakhova, recognized for outstanding mastery of animation; “Waiting for Green” by Saule Matvienko, noted for its delicate imagery; and “It Hurts!” by Anastasia Petrova, acknowledged for its sharp and self-ironic reflection on the problems of the younger generation.
In the debut film category, the winner was “The Girl and the Hornet” by Dusya Geller. A Special Prize was awarded to “Kitten and Hedgehog” by Vsevolod Bulavkin for its craftsmanship and originality. Jury diplomas went to “Lacrifagia”by Elizaveta Klimaeva for its refined visual aesthetics, “Swimming Lessons” by Anna Isakova for its subtle portrayal of relationships, and “Inside the Snake” by Ivan Khanzhin for its expressive and metaphorical approach.
The Best Children’s Film award was given to “Firefly” by Alyona Tomilova.
In the author-driven short film category, the Grand Prize went to “Tawny Owl” by Anastasia Zhakulina. The Special Prize was awarded to “The Orange Tree” by Olga Baulina for its expressive artistic transformation. Jury diplomas were presented to “Submarine” by Evgeny Fadeev for its emotional impact and “Water Bul-Bul” by Yuri Tomilov for its distinctive animation plasticity.
In the applied animation category, the winner was the trailer for the G8 Creative Industries Festival, created by Misha Petrik and Alexey Bovkun. Diplomas were awarded to “Stream of Power” by Leonid Shmelkov for its vivid advertising concept and “The Legend of Syrdon” by Pavel Pogudin for its expressive visual language.
In the series category, the Grand Prize was awarded to “Captains of the Future. Episode 1” by Konstantin Shchekin. The jury also recognized episodes of “Pea and Company” for their lively engagement with a children’s audience, and “A Very Inconvenient Crocodile” by Asya Filippova for the charm of its main character.
In the feature-length category, the winner was “Out for Disposal” by Konstantin Bronzit. A diploma was awarded to “Marakuda” by Viktor Glukhushin for its life-affirming tone.
The festival Grand Prix was not awarded this year.
According to the professional ranking in the M.A.R.T. category, first place went to “The Five-Second Rule”, created by a collective of directors: Yury Boguslavsky, Gulnara Nizamieva, Maria Ermolaeva, Ekaterina Vdovina, Anna-Maria Chernigovskaya, Vasily Chirkov, Kharitonova Kharitonova, and Polina Volkova. Second place was awarded to “The Shepherd, the Ram and the Girl” by Elizaveta Kott, and third place to “El Pastor” by Sofia Levina.
In the overall professional ranking of the festival, the leader was “The Girl and the Hornet”, followed by “Four Stops”and “Unrest”.
The top ten also included “To the Bottom”, “In the Shadow of Trees”, “Kitten and Hedgehog”, “Variety of Waves…”, “Inside the Snake”, “Son”, and “Tawny Owl”.
