The Animation Film Association Continues Work on the Animated Series “Cartoons About What Matters Most”

The Animation Film Association continues the implementation of the project Cartoons About What Matters Most, supported by the Presidential Foundation for Cultural Initiatives.

The project includes the production of 15 animated short films for children and teenagers. The series is dedicated to the traditional spiritual, moral, and cultural values of Russian society, presenting them through engaging stories and relatable everyday situations.

The main characters are ten-year-old twins Olya and Kolya. Spending their summer holidays in the countryside with their grandparents, they explore important questions together with local residents: What is creative work? What are high moral ideals? What does it mean to be a responsible citizen and a patriot? How are humanism and mutual respect expressed in everyday life? Helping them test their conclusions is their intelligent voice assistant, Vasilisa.

The project is currently in its pre-production stage. Screenplays are being finalized, and music is being selected for the upcoming series. Animation production is scheduled to begin in September at the Faculties of Animation and Design of the Ivan Fedorov Moscow Publishing and Printing College.

The project aims to create contemporary Russian animated content that helps foster strong moral values and respect for the country’s cultural heritage among younger audiences.
