The competition program of the Voronezh International Animation Festival ‘Animakers’ IInd edition has been announced
The directorate of the Voronezh International animation festival “Animakers”, which will be held from May 30 to June 2, 2024 in Voronezh, announced a competitive program of animated films. The program includes features, shorts and animated series created no earlier than January 1, 2022. The festival is supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Voronezh Region.
In total, more than 3,200 applications from 107 countries were submitted to participate in the competition program of the festival. The competition program included 136 films from 38 countries, including China, Iran, Mexico, Brazil, Turkey and others. The competition includes 6 features, 117 shorts and 14 episodes of animated series.
The non-competitive program of the festival will consist of screenings of short and full-length films, educational and business programs of the “Animakers” festival. The educational program will traditionally include lectures and workshops on animation and creative meetings with recognized professionals of the Russian and international animation industry.
An innovation of the program of the ‘Animakers’ festival in 2024 will be an extensive business program, within the framework of which strategic sessions on import substitution of software for creating 3D content will be held, organized by the Voronezh animation studio. The program includes panel discussions on software development and promotion with the participation of speakers from leading animation studios of the Russian Federation, IT companies and creative industries, lectures on 3D technologies for students and professionals of the animation industry.
