IX Animatika International Festival of Children’s Animated Films Cancelled in 2026

Dear participants, teachers, parents and partners,
We regret to inform you that the IX Animatika International Festival of Children’s Animated Films, scheduled to take place at the Artek International Children’s Centre from 13 to 19 August 2026, has been cancelled.
Traditionally, the festival is held as part of Artek’s ninth camp session, with competition winners receiving invitations to attend the entire programme. However, the ninth session will not take place as planned this year.
The decision is connected with the suspension of bookings, admissions and accommodation of children at recreational and educational facilities located in the Republic of Crimea until 1 September 2026, in accordance with Decree No. 199-U of the Head of the Republic of Crimea, issued on 22 June 2026.
In addition, a state of emergency was introduced in the region on 26 June 2026 under Decree No. 210-U of the Head of the Republic of Crimea.
Under these circumstances, the festival organizers are unable to hold the event on the planned dates or determine alternative arrangements for its implementation.
We understand that many participants were looking forward to Animatika, preparing конкурсные works and planning their trip to Artek. For the festival team, this decision is no less difficult than it is for the young filmmakers and their families.
We sincerely thank everyone for their understanding, trust and continued support of the project. We hope that, at the earliest opportunity, Animatika will once again bring together young animators from across the country.
Information about the future plans of the project will be announced by the Russian Animated Film Association through its official communication channels.
