The Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation has announced the start of its 2026 funding campaign for film production. State support will be available to film production companies developing national film projects, including animated films.

Applications opened on June 1 and will be accepted until July 1, 2026 (7:00 p.m. Moscow time). Submissions must be made through the Ministry of Culture’s Unified Information System for State Support Services.

The funding program is open to producers of feature-length fiction, documentary, and animated films.

For feature fiction projects, the maximum subsidy amount is set at RUB 100 million, with state support covering up to 70% of the total production budget.

Special provisions have been established for debut projects. Feature-length debut films directed by graduates of creative arts institutions may receive funding covering up to 100% of production costs, with a maximum allocation of RUB 60 million. Other debut feature films may receive support covering up to 70% of production costs, capped at RUB 50 million.

Feature-length films for children and young audiences are eligible for funding of up to 100% of production costs, with a maximum subsidy of RUB 100 million.

The Ministry of Culture will also continue its program supporting the completion of feature-length films. Under this initiative, projects may receive up to RUB 30 million to finalize production.

The funding program remains one of the key instruments supporting the development of the Russian animation industry. State subsidies help finance animated feature films and provide production companies with opportunities to develop new projects for domestic and international audiences.

Earlier this year, the Ministry of Culture published its list of priority themes for state-supported film production in 2026. These priorities will be taken into account during the evaluation of applications.

Detailed information on eligibility requirements and application procedures is available on the official website of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.
