The Moscow Mint Has Issued Medals Featuring the Heroes of “Prostokvashino”

The Moscow Mint, a branch of JSC Goznak, together with the Soyuzmultfilm studio, has unveiled new collectible medals dedicated to the characters of “Prostokvashino”. The release is timed to coincide with the premiere of the first live-action film based on the famous novella by Eduard Uspensky.

The obverse sides feature the characters Sharik and Matroskin. According to the IPSOS “New Generation” study for the end of 2024 and the first half of 2025, these characters were recognized as the most recognizable in Russia.

The medals are made of nickel silver and have a diameter of 33 mm. UV printing technology was used to apply the full-color images, ensuring high detail and durability. The total mintage of the two medals is 3,000 pieces.

The “Prostokvashino” medals have been available for sale since December 24.
