The new animated series “Cheburashka” has shown a record-breaking launch on the Solntse TV channel and the online platforms Okko and Wink.

The project premiered simultaneously on TV and online on October 25, and over the weekend about 2 million people watched it on the Solntse channel (MediaScope, Russia 0+, audience aged 4+). The show’s audience share was 92% higher than the channel’s average.
No less impressive results were seen online: on the Wink and Okko platforms, Cheburashka received more than 2 million total views in just three days, confidently taking a place among the most-watched projects during that period.
Created using 3D animation technology, the project is stylistically modeled after classic puppet cartoons. The Cheburashka production designers consulted with stop-motion animation masters to authentically convey the characters’ movement and physicality.
The new series also features modern arrangements of the famous songs “The Blue Train Car” (Goluboy vagon), “Old Lady Shapoklyak’s Song” (Good deeds won’t make you famous), and other hits composed by Vladimir Shainsky. New musical compositions will also be introduced.
According to the storyline, the heroes of Roman Kachanov’s classic film universe — the characters of the new Cheburashka — live in a small town that represents a collective image of timeless Russian cities (Yaroslavl, Kostroma, Pereslavl-Zalessky), but with elements of modern infrastructure.
Courtyards with gardens and fountains, fruit trees and playgrounds, and cozy streets form the backdrop for exciting adventures, as in each episode Cheburashka and Gena set out to do a new good deed.
New episodes will be released on the Solntse TV channel and the Wink and Okko streaming platforms.
