Russian Animated Film “Mikhalych” Receives Golden Camellia Award in China

The animated film Mikhalych, produced by the Yekaterinburg-based studio Bright Stories (Svetlye Istorii), has received the Golden Camellia Award at Animation Film Week in China.

The award was accepted on behalf of the film’s team by production designer Polina Razina. In her acceptance speech, she thanked the creators of the project and highlighted the contribution of the entire production team.

“This film is especially important to its director, Vadim Ivanov, so he will be truly happy to receive this recognition. Many thanks to all the animators who worked on the project. And special gratitude goes to producer Ivan Vtorykh for his support and deep commitment to the film,” said Polina Razina during the award ceremony.

The Russian Animated Film Association congratulates director Vadim Ivanov, producer Ivan Vtorykh, and the entire Bright Stories team on this international recognition.

The award was presented during Chongqing International Animation Week, which took place from 9 to 13 June 2026 in Yongchuan District, Chongqing, China.

Russian animation was represented at the event through a joint national stand organized under the auspices of the Russian Animated Film Association. The stand brought together projects from Russian studios and production companies working in children’s, family and auteur animation.

Participation in Chongqing International Animation Week is aimed at strengthening professional ties, promoting Russian animation projects in the Chinese market, and expanding cooperation between the animation industries of Russia and China.
