Festival of Street Cartoons: New Competition Season

The Festival of Street Cartoons announces the launch of a new season of the animation competition and invites children and teenagers aged 4 to 18 to participate. The creative concept of the season focuses on a city or village of the future, shaped through the artistic vision of young authors. Participants are encouraged to present their interpretation of an ideal future world where a child’s well-being and happiness are the core values, and to express their individual creative perspective on the theme.
Since the project was founded, the festival has collected more than 3,000 animation works from eight countries. The festival’s creative founder, Anna Lenkova, emphasizes that the mission of the project is to support young authors and build an open international animation community that values creative growth, knowledge sharing, and professional development.
The festival accepts animation films created in any artistic or technical technique. The use of accessible digital filming and editing tools is permitted. Submissions reviewed by the jury must meet the criteria of originality and artistic expression and demonstrate an independent creative concept.
Evaluation is carried out by a professional expert jury that includes representatives from key animation partners, such as Soyuzmultfilm, experts from “Parovoz”, specialists from the animation school studio “SHAR” Animation School, members of “Sharovaya Molniya”, and educators from the Animation Faculty of Synergy University. The assessment process also includes architectural expert review to ensure conceptual ideas align with the basic principles of real-world physics and design logic.
The educational program of the season includes video lectures provided by media partner Culture of St. Petersburg and an animation master class delivered by “Parovoz” studio professionals. An online course on animated character creation is hosted by director and educator Olga Dudina at her Creative Thinking School.
The submission period opens on December 1. The competition accepts animation films created no earlier than 2024 and published in open sources before December 31, 2024. Applications are submitted via an online form, including the author’s name, nomination, country, and city. Competition results are scheduled to be announced in March 2026.
Winners will receive personalized electronic diplomas, awards from partner animation studios, and animation training courses provided by Synergy University. Detailed participation rules and the official season regulations are published on the festival’s official web resources and social media communities.
The festival operates under a framework that ensures equal access to participation, supports independent creative initiative, and fosters the growth of young animation within the international cultural landscape.
