Konstantin Khabenskiy and Elizaveta Boyarskaya starring in ‘Babyriki’ feature

Riki Group of companies has published the first stills of forthcoming feature Babyriki. Birthday directed by Oksana Bychkova and Katerina Savchuk scheduled for theaters in autumn 2024.
Elizaveta Boyarskaya as Mom and and Konstantin Khabenskiy as Dad are starring. NMG Kinoprokat, part of the National Media Group holding is the distributor.

According to the plot, Mom and Dad have just moved into a new house and are preparing for the first birthday of their daughter. Balancing between work and family, Dad buys a gift in an unusual children’s store without even looking into the box. And there are small animated toys – Babyriki. While the parents are preparing for the holiday, the little ones get out of the box and go in search of their own house.

Babyriki. Birthday is a family musical animated feature, using the technology of combining video and CGI.  The picture will be a prequel to the animated series about Babyriki. Konstantin Khabenskiy is already well known to fans of the project as Dad in the animated series is dubbed by his voice.

‘For an artist, shooting in an animated film is very different from the usual work. There is its own specificity, magic. This is a fabulous world of animation, where you become on par with the little animated chracters. This is an interesting experience and a new adventure,’ Konstantin Khabenskiy comments.

‘Everything that happens on the site is very unusual and great. It’s the first time I’m acting in such a movie when the characters are imaginary. When we interact with Konstantin, it’s one thing, with the Baby, it’s another, because she is the main treasure here, everything is adjusted to her mood and movement. But as it turned out, we still have full-fledged partners who are simply invisible. This is a new experience and, it seems to me, it turned out well,’ Elizaveta Boyarskaya summed up.
