Russian Animation to Be Presented at Chongqing International Animation Week

Chongqing International Animation Week will take place from 9 to 13 June 2026 in Yongchuan District, Chongqing. The event is organized by China Media Group and the Chongqing Municipal People’s Government, with support from the Publicity Department of Chongqing and participation of the China Animation Association.

Russian animation will be represented at the event through a joint stand under the auspices of the Russian Animated Film Association. The stand will feature projects by Russian studios and production companies working in children’s, family and auteur animation.

The Russian Animated Film Association is coordinating Russia’s participation and will present a cross-section of the national animation industry at Chongqing International Animation Week. This format will introduce Chinese colleagues and guests of the event to different areas of Russian animation, from feature films and series to short films and educational projects.

The Russian stand will include projects by SMF Animation, Voronezh Animation Studio, Tugan Batyr, YARKO Animation Studio, Chernovik Studio, KHOR Media, the Association of Film and Animation Producers of the Chelyabinsk Region, Kaprizka Production, STS Animation, Aist Media and Childgood Animation.

Among the projects presented are SMF 90, Heroes of the Arctic, Tugan Batyr, Technolike, Homeland of the Sun, Pinetochka Country, Mishka Bo, Kaprizka, STS Animation projects, Aist Media series, Neurons and other works by participants of the Russian stand.

The programme of Chongqing International Animation Week includes screenings, business events, exhibitions, master classes and meetings with industry representatives. For Russian participants, the event offers an opportunity to present their projects to Chinese professionals, express interest in cooperation and discuss prospects for further interaction between animation companies in Russia and China.

Participation in Chongqing International Animation Week continues the Russian Animated Film Association’s work to promote Russian animation abroad and develop international professional ties.
